Data Proves Ecotherapy Workshops Provide Deep Healing
Since 2025, Full Moon Farm Collective has hosted Ecotherapy Workshops to provide accessible mental health resources in an outdoor setting. Our organization prioritizes group work to increase feelings of connection, shared experiences, collective processing, and multiplying impact beyond one person.
Jessica Fisher is interning with FMFC as a part of her Appalachian State University Master’s of Social Work program. We are grateful for her thorough analysis of the pre- and post- workshop surveys collected during 3 Ecotherapy Workshops in 2026. Data reflects a total of 31 participants. You can read her full report (pdf) linked in the button below.
Here are a few key statistical findings that show how our workshops decrease negative mental health symptoms and increase positive mental health indicators. All data was collected anonymously and qualitative feedback was also provided.
“Mental health indicators improved dramatically across all workshops:
Anxiety: Average 67% reduction across all cohorts
Depression: Average 59% reduction across all cohorts
Stress: Declined 72% among June SFH participants and 76% among April SFH participants (largest reductions occurred in cohorts that arrived most stressed)
Connection with Nature: Increased 39–48% across all workshops
Joy & Contentment: Rose 24–36%”
“Participant Voice: "This workshop lowered my anxiety to a level I’ve not felt in decades. Afterwards I felt calm and completely regulated, unshaken... This type of work is so important for all of us to be a part of. It is so connective for the collective."
